See what a PDF reveals about its author and software, and clear those fields before you share it. Nothing is uploaded.
This clears the standard document information fields (title, author, subject, keywords, creator, producer, dates). It does not remove text, images or comments inside the pages, hidden layers, or XMP metadata embedded elsewhere in the file, so do not treat it as redaction. Visible personal data on the pages needs to be covered or deleted separately, for example with delete PDF pages.
Is my PDF uploaded? No. The file is read and rewritten locally in your browser.
Does this redact the document? No. It only clears the document information fields. Content on the pages is unchanged.
Why would I clear metadata? Documents often carry the author's name, the software used and creation dates. Clearing them avoids sharing details you did not mean to.
