Many application portals reject photos above 50, 100 or 200 KB. Add one or more images, choose the maximum size, and the tool lowers quality (and, if you allow it, dimensions) until each file fits. Everything happens in your browser.
The result is guaranteed to be at or below your limit when possible, not an exact size. PNG and WebP inputs are converted to the output format chosen above; transparent areas become white.
(your browser may ask permission to download several files)
Need exact pixel dimensions before compressing? Resize or crop the photo. Need one small PDF instead of images? Combine photos into a PDF under a size limit.
Each image is drawn onto a canvas and re-encoded. A binary search finds the highest quality that stays under your limit. If even the lowest quality is too large and dimensions may be reduced, the image is scaled down by 15% and the search repeats. Your original files are never changed.
Is my photo uploaded? No. Everything runs locally in your browser; nothing is sent to a server.
Why is the result not exactly 100 KB? The tool finds the best quality that is at or under the limit. Portals normally only enforce a maximum.
Can I compress several photos at once? Yes. Select several files; each gets its own result row and download link.
Does the portal want exact pixel dimensions? This tool controls file size. Dimensions are separate; see the resize tool.
